Farewell March

Here we are soaking up the last day of March, our first month of living in California. I'm so excited to share a little project I've been working on...Photobucket That's right. I made business cards. Now these are not the cards for my etsy shop. Those are still in the works. These are for my mini piano teaching business... Is it crazy that I'm trying to simultaneously launch two small businesses?Photobucket
Of course no business card is complete without a customized carrying case... Photobucket
I'm still deciding on what button I want to use. Either the green one or the flower one. Which would you choose?Photobucket
So excited to build a little studio here. I'm dreaming of end-of-the-year piano recitals...Photobucket
Oh music, how I love thee.

A Peek at Today

I've really been missing playing the piano. Yesterday we went to a college close by to see if I might be able to slip into a practice room undetected, but alas, they were all locked... Photobucket
So as I sit here dreaming about someday owning my own piano again, I will sip my tea and get caught up on all my email correspondence. Photobucket This photo was taken in Switzerland last summer over a morning tea at our hotel. My cup tonight won't be nearly so deliciously adorned, but it'll be tasty nonetheless.

The weekend is here my dears. I hope you have a blessed one!

Choosing to Serve

It's been quite awhile since I've done a weekly goal post on this blog. You may remember some of my others?

This week I'm making it my goal to serve others. I am (with the help of the Holy Spirit within me) changing my naturally self-centered focus into a focus directed toward others. Yes, I know, I should be doing this every week, and I do try but I am a bit halfhearted about it. Which is why this week I really want to focus on this area. Anyone care to join me?
Photobucket
I even found a power verse I can carry with me...

"Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." - Philippians 2:4

A Nifty Little Addition

Any StumbleUpon users out there? I read about StumbleUpon months ago and was interested, but needed more time to process the whole idea. Today, I finally joined the fun and am loving exploring the web with this awesome tool!

I've now added the little StumbleUpon button to each of my blog posts, so if you "Stumble" and like anything you see here, you can click the button to send more visitors my way...

If you've never heard of StumbleUpon, you can read more about it here. I'm telling you, it's fantastic fun!

And because I cannot end a post without a picture, here are some flowers from me to you for stopping by...

Happy Monday!

A Future Little Shop

Here's a little peek at what I've been working on lately... Photobucket
As many of you know, I've been longing to open my own little etsy shop. Slowly but surely I've been designing handmade items and setting them aside as merchandise.Photobucket These darling fingerless gloves might just be my favorite creation thus far. Photobucket
All the different colors make me smile... Photobucket
I made the purple pair first as a thank-you gift for a friend, Hopefully she'll love 'em as much as I do...Photobucket
The green pair are marked as merchandise and will be going in my shop when it opens. I cannot tell you how excited I am for that day!Photobucket
If all goes according to plan, I'm hoping to have enough items ready for sale by the end of the month.

I hope you'll stay tuned for opening day...

Happy Friday everyone,

A Sunny Colorful Day

A new scarf can add such a terrific pop of color to a neutral-toned outfit. Photobucket
Of course, having the ocean in the background doesn't hurt either. Photobucket  Photobucket Seriously, the flowers in California are so beautiful. I find a new one everyday it seems. Photobucket
Yet another lovely day... Photobucket Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my little crochet project I've promised to share. It'll be coming soon...

Destination Beach

We went to the library yesterday and the books I brought home had me wishing for a reading day at the beach. Today my wish came true... Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
As it turned out, I didn't get much reading done, but instead took pictures. All the beauty left me feeling inspired by the Maker to create something lovely. So tonight I've been crocheting... can't wait to show you when I'm finished.

Do you ever get creatively inspired by being outdoors?

Kisses From Heaven

Today I... Photobucket Photographed yellow flowers... Photobucket Captured a smile with my man... Photobucket Climbed a mountain... Photobucket Found some white and purple flowers too... Photobucket Looked at the incredible place God has brought us to... Photobucket Pondered the peace He offers when I trust... Photobucket Soaked in the beauty of His creation... A New Home State

We finally made it to our new home in sunny California... safe and sound. Photobucket
I somehow forgot to take pictures of the state signs when we left Minnesota. By the time I remembered we were leaving Colorado. The drive from Colorado to California is absolutely breathtaking. Aside from my terror of driving in the mountains, I thoroughly enjoyed the views.Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Unfortunately the picture of the California state sign turned out all blurry. Of course I would get a blurry picture of the most important sign. But I promise we really did make it all the way here.

Thank you to all of you who prayed for our safety and transition. God has been good to us.
